White Wizzard: “Infernal Overdrive” Album Review

Oh, White Wizzard … where have you been all of my life?

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the future heroes of heavy metal, White Wizzard. On January 12, get ready to have your socks blown off by Infernal Overdrive. My God, this is one hell of a spectacular record. Where to even begin … but I shall try.

Bandleader and bassist Jon Leon has brought back Wyatt “Screaming Demon” Anderson on vocals and James. J. LaRue on guitars, and in doing so has assembled one badasse group. Anderson is quite possibly the best kept secret in metal. His range, power, and control create, without a doubt, an incredibly musical weapon of mass destruction. This guy should be a household name in metal circles. The songwriting and execution of these tracks is so spot on it boggles the mind that these guys have never showed up on anyone’s radar. I am sitting here dying that I can’t list Infernal Overdrive on my “best of 2017” list because it doesn’t come out until next year! Damn you, gods of early press promo releases!

Simply put, there isn’t a weak track on this record. To be able to pull off a record that is so pristine and kick-ass from start to finish is almost impossible, but somehow White Wizzard have pulled it off.

Infernal Overdrive is out January 12 on M-Theory Audio. Buy it here!
