Do you want to watch video of Opeth performing with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra? HELL YES YOU DO! The highly anticipated concert took place this past weekend at the magnificent Roman Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and from what I’ve read, it was a HUGE success! The band performed the first set with the Orchesta, the second set without, and ended the night with a powerful performance of “The Lotus Eater” for the fans in attendance. As I mentioned back in August, I’m praying to the metal Gods that they filmed this for an upcoming DVD, because when will ever see Opeth with an orchestra again? Plus, by the fan footage below, it sounded INCREDIBLE! Enjoy some raw clips below, and if you were at this show, my jealousy can not be put into words.
With orchestra: “Eternal RainsWill Come”, “Cusp of Eternity”, “The Drapery Falls”, “Demon of the Fall”, “Voice of Treason”, “The Devil’s Orchard”, “The Grand Conjuration”, “Deliverance”
Without orchestra: “Heir Apparent”, “Godhead’s Lament”, “Advent”, “Elysian Woes”, “To Rid the Disease”, “The Lines in My Hand”, “The Leper Affinity”
Encore: “The Lotus Eater”
Check out fan footage of both sets below! How awesome is this?!
