Happy Hump Day, everyone! We’ve reached the midway point of our Hottest Guys In Metal series, and we’re sure you’re all pretty sore, so have Jessica’s top five picks, chosen carefully for quality over quantity!
The first time I ever saw someone in metal that wasn’t in face paint or glammed out and girly.
It wasn’t fantasy or imaginary. It was real. A REAL MAN!!! YEAH YEAH for a real WO MOHN
Someone standing there powerfully, All in black. Wide-stanced and strong. Menacing.
I wanted that. I wanted to be that. I loved that. I LOVE HIM.
I learned from that and to this day I stand like him when I play and add an extra UGH at the end of all my words when I sing. He never looks like he gave a fuck about what people think about him. And C’mon. Where would we be without Metallica. Hate all you want what they are now.. But never undermine what they were
I had never met someone so striking looking in my life. He was the tallest person I had ever seen, long, gorgeous jet black hair and had one of the most brutal Brooklyn accents I had ever heard. He was amazing and I knew that from the first second I met him. I met Peter Steele when when he worked as a grounds keeper at the Brooklyn Promenade in my neighborhood. He kept an eye on me and allowed me to cut school under one condition… that he approved of the music I was listening to.Then I finally was able to see/hear him play and sing.. That voice.. so deep, did things to me I did not expect. Those words.. so honest and dark. That bass.. booming.. so distorted and crazy and he was just there. Like a pillar; confidence dripping from every pore..
Never mind that he looks like a viking king, his playing blows me away. He made me think differently about music and for that I am always thankful. He plays the most complex things with such ease. I could watch him for days. Did I mention that he is one of the nicest people I have ever met and that he looks like a viking king? Yes… …… yes…
Another teddy bear disguised in the frame of a mythic Norse warrior. This guy looks like he could run through a wall. He sings about pillaging and warfare, dragging bodies in snow and fighting. Fighting with spears, with shields, with swords, with fire, fighting with fists… you get the point. But there is this moment when he will crack a smile right before he drinks out of his horn that will make all hearts melt.
Its been amazing watching this guy evolve over the years. His lyrics are so sexy and imaginative and he is performance on stage… truly fearless and full of blood sweat and tears. I get off on his passion and willingness to share his deepest vulnerabilities, his willingness to take risks and giving 100 percent every time.
