Technical Damage: “The Introspect” Album Review

Technical Damage: “The Introspect” Album Review

Listening to this album, I got the same feeling I got when I first heard Gojira or Obscura. Technical Damage deliver both clarity and finesse with The Introspect.

Formed in late 2016, Technical Damage hail from Vancouver, British Columbia, and like Gojira, the melodies and rhythms flow all over you. And yet the vocals have enough of an acerbic bite giving them venomous potency. “Reflections” is deep, dark, and outraged with an intensity captured in flowing progressive riffs that is absolutely gorgeous. “Eviscerate” is phenomenal with Middle Eastern flair at first before the track comes roaring at you like a storm, full of menace and fury. It is wonderfully captivating. The title track starts off with a space odyssey feel, and midway through, it has this kickass bluesy feel layered with vitriolic vocals and just keeps evolving into something beautifully indefinable.

I am duly impressed by the compositions and the style of Technical Damage and The Introspect.
