Superjoint tore the shit out of The Whiskey A Go Go on Thursday night with 16 songs of pure American hatred. Phillip Anselmo was his usual alpha male self, busting his band mates’ balls between songs and begging fans not to fight before shit-stirring the crowd with songs like “The Destruction of a Person” and “Everyone Hates Everyone.” A few new songs from last year’s Caught Up in the Gears of Application were sprinkled among old favorites like “Fuck Your Enemy” and “The Alcholik” for a neck-wrecking, 60-minute set.

The badasses in Battlecross and Child Bite opened the night of metal with shredding sets of their own, and Child Bite frontman Shawn Knight joined Superjoint on stage at the end of the night for an encore of “It Takes No Guts.”
