Sea Legs: Matt Harvey of Exhumed Is Ready To Party On 70,000 Tons Of Metal

One week from today, 3,000 fans and 60 bands will set sail from Fort Lauderdale for the epic 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise to Grand Turk Island. Exhumed will be one of those bands who will be playing both classics and tracks from their 2017 Relapse Records release Death Revenge.

In preparation for the cruise, we had a chance to catch up with Exhumed frontman Matt Harvey and ask a few questions as part of our Sea Legs series.

What is your best “boat story”?
The Gilligan’s Island theme song! Actually, most of my boat stories are scuba diving stories. I went scuba diving really hung over once, and couldn’t stop barfing until I got in the water and then I was fine. Best cure for sea-sickness is just getting in the sea!

What is the must-have gear that you are packing for the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise?
Suntan lotion, sunglasses, brand-new flip-flops, and my Manowar shorts!

What is your must-do activity on the boat or when in the islands?
I’m getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasted!

What song will you be singing for karaoke on the cruise?
“Hello” by Lionel Richie.

If the shit hits the fan and you end up on a deserted island, what is the one metal album you want with you?
The one that can also be used as a life preserver.
