Austin’s Scorpion Child will be just one of the great bands picked by Clutch to open for their spring, “Earth Rocker” Tour.

Scorpion Child will be bringing their Texas sturm und drang psychedelic blues rock to stages all over the U.S. in the next few months as one of the opening acts on the much anticipated Clutch “Earth Rocker” Tour. You may not know their name or their music now, but if you love music with balls, get to know them.

Based out of Austin, TX, Scorpion Child will be just one of the many acts Clutch has called up on to share the stage with them on their spring tour. Along with Scorpion Child, the UK’s Orange Goblin and Washington D.C.’s Lionize will be along for the ride. In a nutshell, making this one of the must-see heavy rock shows hitting stages before the summer festival season starts. The 34 dates begin March 9th in Cincinnati before the last date April 20th in Baltimore, not far from Clutch’s hometown of Germantown, MD.

Newly signed to Nuclear Blast Entertainment, Scorpion Child’s self-titled debut album was recorded totally on digital equipment, which befits their classic hard rock sound. This is not a sanitized and manufactured digital sounding band. This is a band that sweats gritty heavy rock that has been rarely heard since Robert Plant was fronting a little band called Led Zeppelin. Aryn Jonathon Black, the band’s vocalist, says, in regards to their new label,  “It is an extreme pleasure to join the Nuclear Blast family of like minds and heavy souls. To be a part of this tour is an honor for us as fans and we will forever cherish this experience.”
