Rock N’ Roll Heaven Record Store and Old Bridge Metal Militia are uniting to present the highly anticipated Reunion Concert and Fundraiser to benefit the victims of Superstorm Sandy. The concert will be held on May 11, 2013 at Encore Event Center in Freehold, NJ.
Rock N’ Roll Heaven, opened in 1984 in Clark, NJ by Megaforce founder Jon Zazula and his wife Marsha, was one of the premiere record stores to find up and coming metal bands, unsigned metal bands and the latest in metal music. The Old Bridge Metal Militia founded in 1981, are a group of the most extreme metal heads from Old Bridge, NJ, who let upcoming and touring bands, stay at their homes when they were in town. Bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Raven all have connections to The Old Bridge Metal Militia. Now these two history makers are uniting for one great cause.
Eddie Trunk will perform Master of Ceremony duties with special guest hosts as well as an all star jam to be announced. Bands currently confirmed for the event include Anvil, Raven, The Rods and Lords of Mercy. Doors open at 7:00pm and there will be a drinking section for those 21+. Ticket sale dates will be announced soon!
Rock N’ Roll Heaven and Old Bridge Metal Milita also ask all attendees to bring canned goods or non-perishable food items for a food drive which will benefit local area soup kitchens and shelters.
Jon and Marsha Zazula, said of the upcoming special event: “It’s really great to bring the Militia together again and we look forward to seeing all of the old faces and new faces, both young and old. We’ve already heard that fans are coming in from Germany and even up from Florida. They don’t even know the line-up yet, that’s how cool this is! We can’t wait to bang with the best of them for this really good cause.”
Rockin’ Ray and Metal Joe, of the Old Bridge Metal Milita added, “We would like to take this opportunity to invite music lovers to a reunion of Rock N’ Roll Heaven and the Old Bridge Metal Militia. It should be a rockin’ night that will benefit the victims of Superstorm Sandy. Please come and show your support.”
This is a 100% non-profit event to benefit the victims of Superstorm Sandy.
