Riviere: “Heal” Album Review

Mood music for blustery days!

Riviere: “Heal” Album Review

Viva la France and viva Riviere! Yep, this one is amazing. I can’t get enough of this debut album by Riviere, Heal. When a press release compares the band’s sound to Tool, Karnivool and Deftones, it’s going to pique my interest big time. And man, oh man does it deliver.

I already have Heal on heavy rotation on my iPod. There are gorgeous lush melodies, vocals that lure the listener in and never let go, stellar playing from everyone in the band from beginning to end. As I sit here on a cold, grey, blustery day in New Orleans, it’s the perfect mood music. I definitely get the Deftones vibe with the songs of Riviere with their slow-building stanzas that peak and then swoop down like sonic waves crashing onto your brain beach.

To just pick out any singular songs is not really necessary with Heal. Riviere have released an album I can already see being one of my top albums of 2017. And please, little baby Jeebus, let these guys come to ‘Murica and tour soon!

Heal is out January 20 on Basick Records. Pre-order it here!
