Remembering Dimebag Darrell Ten Years Later!

Remembering Dimebag Darrell Ten Years Later!

On December 8th, 2004, the great Dimebag Darrell was taken from this planet on a night that no metal head will ever forget. Even though it’s now been ten years since that unbelievably tragic day, his legacy is as strong as ever. Whether it was in his years with Pantera, Damageplan, or any of his side projects, Dimebag Darrell left a catalog of music that will never be matched by any other… but he was much more than just a musician. He was also known for being one of the greatest human beings as well. From all we’ve ever heard about him, Dimebag was the definition of what makes heavy metal beautiful. He brought a party everywhere he went, and made you feel like you had known him forever, even if you only met him for two minutes. He was legendary for never leaving until every fan got an autograph, and he truly left it all on stage for the fans each and every night. That is what our music is all about, and he fully embodied that until the very end.

Since it’s the tenth anniversary of his death, I’ve compiled a ton of videos with metal Gods talking about our fallen icon. These guys knew him better than anyone, so it’s a MUST watch! Enjoy Kerry King, Rob Halford, Robb Flynn, Vinnie Paul, Scott Ian, Max Cavalera and others discusing the man, the guitar player, and the ultimate icon below, and be sure to blast Pantera all day long! RIP DIME!

Zakk Wylde put it best with this quote: “Whenever you were around Dime, there was never a boring moment. He was the coolest guy on the planet. He was an even better person than he was a guitar player, if that’s even possible.

Enjoy “In This River” below, and raise one up to the pink beard in the sky today!
