Last month Randy Blythe revealed that he would be hosting his first ever photography show on May 2nd here in New York City at Sacred Gallery. As he said, “I’m showing a body of work curated around a specific theme, which will be posted soon in my artist’s statement. Yes, the stuff will be for sale- what doesn’t go at the show will be sold by the gallery later. www.sacredgallerynyc.com. So if your in NYC, May 2, come on out & say what’s up!”
So what can we expect to see? Today he revealed more information on his official Instagram account: “Yesterday I went to the printers and turned in the final selection of photos for my May 2 exhibit at @sacredgallerynyc. I went through and edited many, many photos before I narrowed it down to 35 pictures for printing- still a lot for a first exhibit. The two test prints I got back look awesome- doing giclée prints on high-quality archival paper, and the prints should really bring the photos to life once they are in the custom frames and under glass. I hope to show all 35 photos, which again is a lot for a first exhibit- at the very least I will be showing 30 though- just have to wait on the prints to see what’s magic and what’s just “ok”. Most of the shots are of humans, but there are a few landscapes- here’s one that I like, but didn’t make the cut for the show- it’s a sea cave/blow hole (note cloud of mist blasting out of cave, bottom right of photo) near the Nobbies, Phillip Island, Australia- Phillip Island is one of my favorite places on earth, & there are a couple of shots from there that made the show, but not this one, so I thought I’d share it here.”
See that photo below, and get excited for May 2nd! Randy is, not only the incredible front man of Lamb Of God, but an exceptional photographer as well. To own a piece of his work would be amazing, and the fact that he’ll be on hand at the event makes it even better. See you at Sacred Gallery NYC in a few weeks!
