New father Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne announced that he has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis just a few weeks after the birth of his daughter Pearl. Jack said in a magazine interview, “The timing was so bad. I’d just had a baby, work was going great … I kept thinking, ‘Why now?'”

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Jack elaborated in the interview that he had lost most of the vision in his right eye which led him to seek treatment. The diagnosis has his parents questioning how this could happen, with his mother  Sharon wondering if she did something wrong while she was pregnant.

Jack is optimistic however and said of his diagnosis:

“While I was waiting for the final results, I got really, really angry. Then I got really sad for about two days, and after that I realized being angry and upset is not going to do anything at this point, if anything it’s only going to make it worse. Adapt and overcome’ is my new motto.”

Jack will appear on The Talk co-hosted by his mother Sharon to discuss everything this Wednesday. His mother said yesterday on the show that he is doing well and is grateful for all the well wishes.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jack and his family.
