This was supposed to be the week that we got our first taste of new material from Opeth, but that is officially not happening. What else is not happening? The new record is not coming out in June anymore either! WHY MUST YOU TEASE US OPETH! WE WANT IT NOW! Okay, so obviously we will have to be patient, because as you can read in Mikael’s latest statement, the release date has unfortunately been pushed back to August 26th via Roadrunner Records. Here’s what he said “Many of you have heard the rumours already and we can now confirm that the release of ‘Pale Communion’ has indeed been pushed back to late August. Several circumstances prevented the band from delivering essential tools to Roadrunner in time which are needed to set up the album release properly and release schedule conflicts made us mutually decide on August instead of June.”
What about the new song we were supposed to hear this week? The first single “Cusp Of Eternity” will now be released on Tuesday, June 3rd, along with another new track being premiered on July 15th! So we are now 26 days away from hearing a new Opeth song! Yes, it’s a huge bummer that the record won’t be out until August now, but look at the bright side, NEW OPETH MUSIC IS STILL COMING THIS SUMMER! GET FUCKING EXCITED!
