I am absolutely ecstatic to report, to you, that Randy Blythe, lead singer of Lamb of God, has been found NOT GUILTY of manslaughter in Prague! Details of the final day have yet to be released but, for now, all I can say, for sure, is that he will be coming back to the United States soon.
Unfortunately this isn’t likely to be the end of this fiasco because of the fact that, unlike in the US, even verdicts of not guilty can be appealed in the Czech Republic. I can’t say, for sure, what the odds are that the ruling will be overturned but I’m going to remain optimistic.
It’s unlikely that, in the case of an appeal, the prosecution will be able to come up with any additional evidence against Randy. Eyewitness accounts, which is likely what hurt the prosecution’s case, will continue to be even less reliable and plenty of fingers can be pointed in plenty of other directions. For now the future is looking up for Randy, Lamb of God, and all of us as fans!
