Nile is wrapping up their tour with Soulfly. I try to always make it to Nile shows and I had the chance to cover them again at The Forge in Joliet, IL. True to form, Nile did not disappoint this time around. Their setlist consisted of classics such as, Sarcophagus, Defiling the Gates of Ishtar, Kafir, Sacrifice Unto Sebek, and of course, they closed out the night with Black Seeds of Vengeance. I don’t think it’s possible for George Kollias to ever miss a beat, Karl is always on-point, and Brad Parris and Brian Kingsland fit in perfectly.
On a more personal note, one thing I have always admired about Karl Sanders, is the fact that he’s one of the nicest and most accessible musicians in the genre today. On many occasions, I have seen Karl jump down from the stage into the pit after the show to talk to fans and take pictures with those who ask. He genuinely loves his fans just as much as we love him and the band. This time was no different.
