Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Lamb of God‘s, “As The Palaces Burn” came out? God I feel old, haha. Anyway, the band completed their remastering with one of my favorite producers in Metal, Josh Wilbur and I can only imagine what this record is going to sound like now. In my opinion, Josh has been a member of the band, playing a pivotal role in the sound you experience every time you blast the record.
Along with the remastered disk that you can preorder right now on http://LambOfGod.MerchNow.com, there is a DVD documentary with a lot of behind the scenes stories and interviews with Devin Townsend who originally produced the record, band members and Josh Wilbur.
Chris Adler commented, “We are lucky to have the opportunity, a decade after our first attempt, to bring what I consider to be our master work up to speed sonically. Ever since the original release we’ve been distraught about the sonic qualities of ‘As the Palaces Burn’. The band had captured lightening in a bottle and the budget limitation of a sophomore album turned our lightening into a firefly in a jar. The songs are undeniable and we’ve always been very proud of how this album launched our career. It feels appropriate to revisit now that we can and give this very special album the chance to reach our original hopes and it’s true potential.”
