This is going to be HUGE! As we previously revealed, the legendary Exodus is hoping to release their new album, “Blood In, Blood Out,” in October via Nuclear Blast Records. Gary Holt previously said that “This album is very fast and has more of a punk rock feel to it, whereas I think the last few EXODUS albums were metal epics, with longer songs. These songs are shorter and a little faster. It has a really different feel to it. It sounds great.” Do you know what else sounds great?! Kirk Hammett doing a guest solo on the new record! Yes it is happening!
According to a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Kirk recorded a solo for a song called “Salt in the Wound” on their new album! Here’s his full statement, “I play a pretty cool solo, and then Gary comes in and plays another solo, and you know what? I listened to that and thought, ‘Wow, it’s 1982 all over again and here we are, Gary and I are trying to cut each other’s heads off with our guitar solos.’ Nothing has changed much in the last 30 years. I love it. I love those guys. I’ve only known them for most of my life, so I’m really happy that I finally got to record with them. Me, recording a solo on their album was a huge thing for me. Other than the Exodus demo that’s been heard by a lot of people, it’s the only time I ever recorded with Exodus. It was a huge thing for me.”
So not only does this new album mark the return of Steve “Zetro” Souza as the front man of Exodus, but we’ll have a guest solo from Kirk too! This album is sounding more and more exciting as each day passes! Let the countdown until October begin!
