Coming out of the barren Australian badlands like the soundtrack to the next Mad Max movie comes the self-titled debut from King Zog. Killer name and even more killer album artwork.
This is a sludgey steamroller of a record. With songs like “Man-Sized Rotisserie” and “Fuck Island,” the stage is set for some soulslamming riffs and bottom end. This album moves over you like molten lava of sonic waves. Just the right amount of production finesse to highlight King Zog’s inherent roughness and concrete edges.
I’m digging it more and more with repeated listenings, and you should spend a few minutes of your time just to check them out.
King Zog is independently released and out July 28. Pre-order it here!
