IS DOWNLOAD A LOAD OF DOWNERS FOR THEIR 2013 FESTIVAL?

Download Festival

In short, ‘yes’. The Download Festival is always known for being eclectic in style but with the latest addition of bands it looks like 2013 DL Fest is going to be a real shit show. Don’t believe me? Let’s try wording it like this: Limp Bizkit, Jimmy Eat World, Korn, Bullet For My Valentine, Volbeat, Asking Alexandria, Parkway Drive, Five Finger Death Punch, The Hives, 3 Doors Down and UFO. Had enough?

What might make it tolerable for some people, not necessarily me, are bands like Down, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Mastodon, Converge, Amon Amarth and Hellyeah. I don’t like all those bands but I know some of you do. If you pick and chose which bands you would actually like to see, it becomes very obvious that the bad greatly outweighs the good.

With tickets ranging from £170 to £205 ($271.73 to $327.67 US Dollars), it’s totally unrealistic to say that anyone would attend to see one or two bands. I love Amon Amarth, but I don’t need to pay three hundred bucks to stand in a crowd of 100,000 people to watch them.

So I have to ask; is anyone actually going to Download this year, and if so, what bands are worth that price? I think it’s madness.
