You all know by now that I’m a sucker for folk metal, right? So we can skip the introductory paragraph where I go on at length about how great it is? Good.
Dyrnwyn is an Italian folk metal band that was suggested to me after I followed Celtibeerian on Twitter. I don’t usually place a lot of faith in social media suggestions, but Dyrnwyn turned out to be a good one. The band is brand new, having gotten its start in late 2012 and only having solidified its lineup in 2013. Their demo, Fatherland, was released in 2013, and they’ve been playing gigs around their native Rome ever since.
The vast majority of available information about the band is in Italian, which I do not speak, but good music knows no language, so have a listen! Dyrnwyn’s next event will be at Latium Folk Fest in Rome on May 4 (more details here). If you’re anywhere in the area, you should go and then comment back here so that I may live vicariously through you!
