God Dethroned: “The World Ablaze” Album Review

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you one of the top 10 metal albums of 2017 … God Dethroned‘s The World Ablaze. I’m calling it here and now. This motherfucker is a monster. I mean, we are talking metal the size of King Kong’s balls. Imagine Amon Amarth in Berserker-mode. This shit be heavy.

The World Ablaze is one of those albums that will force people to sit up and take notice. The production is top notch, vocals and playing beyond spectacular, songwriting of the best standard possible. God Dethroned should be headlining tours all over the world after this album or at least have an opening slot with someone of a major status.

Stand out tracks for this reviewer would have to be “Escape Across The Ice (The White Army),”
“On The Wrong Side Of The Wire,” and “Annihilation Crusade.” Who am I kidding? There isn’t a weak track on this entire record.

Thanks to God Dethroned we now know to pay a little bit more attention as to what is happening on the Dutch metal scene. If these boys are any representation of what is going on behind those windmills and dikes, it’s some badasse shit.

The World Ablaze is out now on Metal Blade Records. Buy it here!
