Another legend has passed away in 2016. Former Megadeth drummer, Nick Menza, has died at the age of 51. Details are still coming out, but according to The Guardian, he died from a heart attack last night while performing with OHM at the club The Baked Potato in LA. Menza’s management issued a statement confirming the news. “Nick collapsed during the third song into a set with his band OHM. Earliest reports indicate he suffered a massive heart attack and was pronounced dead upon arrival at hospital.”
Nick is mostly known from his years with Megadeth, in which he was a part of “Rust in Peace” (1990), “Countdown to Extinction” (1992), “Youthanasia” (1994), “Hidden Treasures” (1995) and “Cryptic Writings” (1997). His talent was undeniable, and he continued to show it to fans right up until this weekend. Dave Mustaine’s tweet says it all. We wish this isn’t true, but it is. RIP Nick. You will be missed.
TELL ME THIS ISN'T TRUE! I woke at 4 AM to hear Nick Menza passed away on 5/21 playing his drums w/Ohm at the Baked Potato. #nickmenzarip
