DECIBEL MAGAZINE’S “WOMEN IN METAL” ISSUE ON NEWSSTANDS NOW

August’s issue of Decibel Magazine, featuring Kylesa‘s Laura Pleasants, Royal Thunder‘s Mlny Parsonz, and Cretin‘s Marissa Martinez (and they’re all wearing all their clothes! glory be!) on the cover, is finally in stores! The “Women In Metal” issue features a photo session with the three covergirls as well as interviews with doom metallers Jucifer, the legendary Doro Pesch, female-fronted death metal band Landmine Marathon, and several other female metal musicians.

Decibel’s “Women In Metal” stands in stark contrast to Revolver’s annual “Hottest Chicks In Metal” issue, which unabashedly focuses more on good-looking women than women with talent. I admit I haven’t picked up “Women In Metal” yet, but the sight of three FULLY-CLOTHED (no, I will not stop gushing about how great it is that they’re not naked — deal with it) badass ladies with no-nonsense expressions on their faces in lieu of come-hither stares and exaggerated pouts on the cover really warms my grim, frost-bitten heart. Pick up the issue today, and let us know what you think!
