Hollywood’s weirdest turned out in force for the best electroshock show of the month on October 12 at Fonda Theatre.
Combichrist decimated the floor of the Fonda with bowel-shaking bass on fan favorites like “Electrohead” and “F*ck That Shit.” Fans raged to the beats of both the band and especially drummer Joe Letz, whose on-stage violence was almost a show itself, and the entire set danced on the razor’s edge of electronic metal like no other band can do.
Lords of Acid took the stage late but brought the house up to a new high with their upbeat trance. Vocalist Mea bounced her way through drug and sex-drenched songs like “Marijuana In Your Brain,” “Rough Sex,” and Scrood Bi U,” giving shout outs to her Los Angeles friends in attendance and feigning fright at the blow-up doll crowd-surfing across the audience during the aptly named “Rubber Doll.” No other house act rocks as hard as the Lords of Acid, and the fan faithful stayed well past midnight to party their faces off with Mea, Praga and the rest of the band.
