Christian Bale Got Ready For "The Big Short" By Learning Pantera!

Christian Bale is well known for being an intense method actor for his all of his films, and in a new interview with Screen Rant, he discussed the very metal way he prepared for his latest role in “The Big Short.” During one of his scenes in the film, he is killing it behind a drum kit, and now we know that the music of Pantera and Mastodon were hugely influential in getting him ready for that one scene. In the interview below, he explains his lessons in metal: “It was a wonderful crash course. Double-kick drum, PANTERA ‘By Demons Be Driven’ — a fantastic song to begin with. This is how Mike Burry unwound. This is actually how he calmed down. He would listen to it all day long in his headphones — and not just that; MASTODON as well. But his brain is on fire so much that death metal calms him. He’s a very, very different individual to most of us.

Now I REALLY want to see this film! Watch Christian discuss his character in more detail below, and his drum crash course at 2:47. This is badass!
