Canada’s Celestial Ruin have fashioned their brand of symphonic metal after their European peers, although they imbue it with their own shades of black. Fronted by vocalist Larissa Dawn, the band released “Awakening” back in 2012, and will follow it up on May 20th with “Pandora.” The upcoming EP consists of five tracks including “Sense of Exile,” which SkullsnBones is proud to premiere for your listening enjoyment below!

According to Dawn, “The concept of ‘Sense of Exile’ is hopefully a relatable one, it’s about making a  life altering decision based on the needs and wants of others. Completely ignoring your own gut instinct and later recognizing that the choice you made has all kinds of negative repercussions. The sound and feel of this song may be high energy, but the lyrics and emotions behind it are that of anger, regret and despair. I’m sure many of us feel these mixed emotions frequently, so I am hoping the power behind the music allows people to just let out all their frustration and after think, ‘I fell a lot better now’.”

Play it loud, and don’t forget to buy the album on iTunes, Apple Music or via the Celestial Ruin’s website. All pre-orders will be available on April 22.
