For over twenty years now, the legendary Cannibal Corpse has been crushing skulls and eardrums across the planet and they haven’t stopped slowing down since they started back in 1988! Each album gets faster and more brutal, and the live shows are still as devastating as ever! The metal world obviously has full respect for this band and now so does the Buffalo Music Hall Of Fame! That’s right! Cannibal Corpse has been selected for induction into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame! If you don’t believe me, you can watch the induction ceremony below, but this is really happening and it fucking rules!
Here’s what the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame said on the death metal icons: “The mission statement of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame is “to honor, preserve, and protect the diverse cultural musical heritage of Western New York through education, scholarship, and performance.” As the BMHOF celebrates its 30th Anniversary, it is done with pride knowing that every type of music is eligible and honored, from Classical to Polka, from Jazz to Rock, from Composers to Performers, and from Hip Hop to Opera. It fills us with great pleasure to include such a hugely successful band as Cannibal Corpse into the organization. Cannibal Corpse has ably represented the WNY area in performances all over the world.”
Legendary bassist, Alex Webster, added: “We are extremely excited to hear about our induction into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. We never could’ve imagined something like this would be possible back when we were getting started at places like the River Rock Cafe or the Skyroom. We are truly honored and humbled by this.”
The Class of 2013 will be inducted into the BMHOF at its 30th Anniversary Induction Gala which will be held October 3 at the Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo NY. More information about the BMHOF can be found at www.buffalomusic.org.
So a HUGE congratulations is in order to the one and only Cannibal Corpse and a big horns up to the Buffalo Hall Of Fame for giving true metal some love!
