Earlier this week Arch Enemy shocked the metal world by announcing that longtime front woman, Angela Gossow, parted ways with the band and Alissa White-Gluz is now their new vocalist. As you read in my response to the news, I was absolutely stunned. Angela was one of my favorite vocalist in metal period, and one of the main reasons that Arch Enemy has been a favorite band of mine for the past decade. To hear that she won’t be there leading the charge anymore is pretty upsetting, but the time to move on is now. The band will be releasing their highly anticipated new album, “War Eternal,” on June 10th via Century Media Records, and yes, the CD will be the first to feature Alissa White-Gluz on vocals. To be completely honest, I’m hesitant to hear it. It’s really hard to picture Arch Enemy without Angela, but let’s give Alissa the credit she deserves, because she is a tremendous talent.

So how does Alissa sound with the heavy metal legends behind her? You no longer have to wait to find out! The band released the new video for the title track today, and you can check it out below! The track sounds like classic Arch Enemy, Alissa sounds strong as hell, but it’s still weird for me to listen to, or perhaps too soon after the departure of Angela. I will definitely give this it’s proper listen once I’ve fully grasped that Angela is gone, but for you, the video is here! Enjoy!
