Amaranthe, the Swedish/Danish sextet with the triple threat vocals, are now streaming the a second track, “Mechanical Illusion”, from their soon-to-be released sophomore album, The Nexus on their website www.amaranthe.se . After seeing the amazing Black Ops: Heavy Metal-themed video for the title track, these two teasers are dispelling any fears of a second album slump from the group. The album is due out in three weeks here on March 26th, and the day before in Europe on the 25th.
The video for “The Nexus” is directed by Patric Ullaeus, who has worked with names such as In Flames, Arch Enemy and Dimmu Borgir; he was also the brains behind the cameras for Amaranthe’s for ‘The Hunger’ video off of their debut album, which so far has racked up 3.5 million views on YouTube. The new video is quickly approaching the 1 million mark in less than a month.
Amaranthe has 2 things going for them: tight quality musicianship and 3 very different and distinct vocalists, which gives them the power of a 1-2 punch on record and live. With close to 50 dates listed for their European tour in the next 6 months, here’s hoping this Scandinavian juggernaut can get their asses over to North America for some dates in the States.
