Back in April we learned that due to health concerns, Malcolm Young was taking a break from AC/DC, but the band promised that they weren’t breaking up, and a new album and tour would definitely be happening in the future. So what’s the latest? According to a new interview with Phil Rudd on TripleM.com, the band finished recording their new album and the new material is stellar! Here’s what he said, “It was done in 10 days. I’ve never played better. I hope it’s as good as what I remember back in the studio. It was pretty damn good, so I hope it’s as good as I think it is.” As for the direction of the music, he said it’s a “step up from ‘Black Ice‘,” but wanted to hear the final product before saying more. Sounds good to me! You can listen to Phil’s full interview here!
As we all know by now, Malcolm’s nephew, Stevie Young, is handling rhythm guitar duties, and from all reports we’ve heard, he is doing one hell of a job. Now with this latest update, it seems like the guys are firing on all cylinders, and we should hopefully hear some new music soon! Stay tuned for more updates, but let it be known, AC/DC is not done!
