Today’s From The Vault is a sad one as we pay tribute to a drummer who left the metal world too soon. As we reported on Friday, Twisted Sister and Adrenaline Mob drummer, A.J. Pero passed away at the age of 55, from a massive heart attack, as confirmed today by Twisted Sister, lead singer Dee Snider who also stated that Pero had advanced heart disease. Let’s take a look back at a legend gone too soon!
Born in Staten Island, NY, Anthony Jude Pero left his first high school when asked to cut his hair. While initially a jazz drummer, A. J. started gravitating to heavier music and joined Twisted Sister in 1981, after seeing them play at a club and heard they were in need of a drummer. After leaving in 1986, A.J. kept active, playing in different bands including joining Adrenaline Mob in 2012. He also played with Twisted Sister up until his death!
REST IN PEACE A.J.
