It has been awfully quiet over the last two months on the 70,000 Tons of Metal front. No announcements, only a handful of Tweets, and a video. (See how we spent our quite time here.) That changed on Christmas Eve, however, when news dropped that Danish folk metallers Svartsot would be boarding the boat. This announcement was quickly followed by the announcement that Kamelot will also be on the cruise.
We roughly one month to go, there are still 20 more acts to be announced. Who will they be?
Here’s the lineup as it stands:
Mors Principium Est
Rage (featuring Lingua Mortis Orchestra)
Fleshgod Apocalypse (New album premiere)
Unleash the Archers
Visions of Atlantis
Soulfly (Return to Roots)
Tiamet (Wildhoney Show)
The Black Dahlia Murder
Subway to Sally
This year’s 70,000 Tons of Metal will depart Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 31 for a four-day headbang all the way to Labadee, Haiti, and back.
